Vac-U-Form

I loved my Vac-U-Form. It came with all kinds of model templates, thin plastic sheets and a heater that had a pump handle on it to create a vacuum.

You would put a model mold on the heater area, put a plastic plate on top of the heater plate it and wait until the plate got hot and pliable. I still remember the unique plastic smell as the stuff got soft - strange how you recall some smells forever.

Then you flip the plastic sheet over on to the template and pump the handle like mad, the vacuum would form the plastic around the mold template. Then you cut out the plastic figure or plane or whatever and in some cases assemble it.

Bang - Instant toys!!

I lost mine to a relative but have seen them on eBay and have been very tempted...
